Tired of worrying about what's at the end of the rainbow for your practice? Take a break with your fellow docs and join them at a pub! Free for MAA members!
Fadó Irish Pub & Restaurant . Come get up-to-date on hypothermia therapy for anoxia with a brief chat by past-president Dr. Rob Albin, then enjoy being with your colleagues for awhile. By joining together socially on a regular basis we can advocate for a healthy environment for physicians to practice and serve. Please join us this month or at one of our future educational or social events. The Medical Association of Atlanta is your medical association representing physicians of all specialties. Please reply soon so we can let the pub know how many of us will congregate around their wonderful establishment. See you there!

The new Fadó Irish Pub & Restaurant |
|
|
The new Fadó opened to the public on 11 March 2008. The new three-level venue was created in Dublin by the Irish Pub Company and was shipped to Atlanta during the winter of 2007.
Regulars will recognize much from the previous location, but also will enjoy new features including the new hand milled bar, the "Grand House" area with oversized fireplace, the mezzanine's Celtic art inspired by St. Patrick's arrival in 432 A.D., and the rooftop patio complete with stone walls and large murals depicting Ireland's rugged landscape. But it won't all feel traditional. The heated floor on the rooftop deck is a modern day touch; we didn't think the whole pub should just feel like Ireland.
With lots of room, it is a great place for lunch, dinner, happy hour, late night fun and corporate or private events. We are also the home of undoubtedly the best pint in Atlanta.
But that is just the beginning. We welcome all to come in and enjoy the craic and the exclusive coverage via satellite of live Irish and European sporting events. If you are a newcomer to Irish sports, you will not be disappointed. We here in Atlanta are proud to sponsor our own local Gaelic Football Team, Clan Na nGael.
Irish pubs have always been the social center for their communities-- Fadó continues that fine Irish tradition.

MAA Launches Career Center |
|
The Medical Association of Atlanta announces its newest benefit, The MAA Career Center, for physicians and health care providers. "Launching an online career center for physicians in the Atlanta area is a natural extension of our mission "to champion our community's well-being and safety while advocating a healthy environment in which physicians practice and serve" said MAA President Matt Gwynn, M.D.
MAA’s employment marketplace, like other JobTarget-powered career centers, distinguishes itself from generalist job boards in a number of ways. These include
• a highly targeted focus on employment opportunities in a certain sector, location, or demographic;
• anonymous resume posting and job application—enabling job candidates to stay connected to the employment market while maintaining full control over their confidential information;
• an advanced Job Alert system that notifies candidates of new opportunities matching their own pre-selected criteria;
• access to industry-specific jobs—and top-quality candidates—often not seen on Monster,CareerBuilder, or HotJobs.
“Niche job boards, like the one we’ve designed for the MAA,are an ideal way to recruit top candidates,” says JobTarget CEO Andrew Banever.
